Fossar de les Moreres

This memorial square next to the Santa Maria del Mar church was constructed over a cemetery where those who died fighting to defend the city in the Siege of Barcelona in 1714 were buried. The square features an eternal flame to honour the memory of the fallen along with the words of the poem 'El Fossar de les Moreres' by Frederic Soler.
