Exhibition focusing on German writer W.G. Sebald - the author of some of the key works from the end of the 20th century and start of the current one - who was killed in a car crash in 2001, just as his books were attracting critical acclaim. Today, those books continue to attract new readers, as the questions Sebald raises within their pages have yet to find definitive answers, broaching as they do issues of memory, history, literature, art and modernity. This exhibition offers a critical reflection on the different ways that Sebald's work has influenced visual arts and literature since the author's death, and uses his work to assess the history of the last century.
