Swab's main mission is to be an art fair of discovery. That's why its selection committee, made up of gallery directors and professionals in the art world, doesn't just settle at selecting works from those sent to them but also takes on the role of curator to search for and follow the work of artists in any discipline who in some way represent emerging art in their home countries. The International Contemporary Art Fair in Barcelona, which takes place over three days in the Italian Pavilion at the Fira Montjuïc grows another year older and includes the participation of more than 60 galleries (the previous edition included 52) from 20 countries, bringing together the works of 165 artists. New this year is Swab Think: Ideas, Words, Networks – an unprecedented programme organised by the Independent Studies Program (PEI) of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona (MACBA) whih consisting of a series of lectures, debates and roundtables.
