Exhibition postponed pending new dates.
Picasso experimented with many artistic techniques: painting, sculpture, engraving, poetry... One of his lesser-known facets is highlighted in this exhibition, which collects the artist's creations of jewellery. From the shell necklaces made for Dora Maar on the beaches of Juan-les-Pins in 1937, to pieces of pottery formed in his Madoura workshop and his work with precious metals in the 1960s. It was then that a first series was designed for sale; for Picasso, it was not only about ornaments but about pieces with great expressive potential and earthly strength.
The exhibition is accompanied by a selection of jewellery by artists from the Clo Fleiss collection, with pieces by André Derain, Niki de Saint-Phalle, Miquel Barceló, Lucio Fontana and Louise Bourgeois.
