One Foot Out. Expeditions and Diasporas. Picture yourself as a block of melting butter

'Imagine you're a block of melting butter' is what this approach to material culture proposes through an immersive, all-enveloping installation that explores the production of desires, feelings and subjectivity in relation to consumer objects. The exhibition room becomes a space of visual experimentation that revolves around the culture of well-being, relaxation and meditation. Through exercises of becoming less aware of the body and a series of phenomena and subcultures found in YouTube and social networks, Eva Fàbregas looks for a kind of unstable balance between the material state of objects and the fluidity of desire, with the aim to find and produce specific effects in our bodies.
