Time Out says

This exhibition of some 1,000 pieces explores the iconographic photography of the urban evolution of Barcelona throughout a century and a half of history, under the command of Jorge Ribalta, artist, critic and independent curator. The show looks at the urban transformation, marked by the celebration of big international events, from the 1888 Universal Expo to the Forum of Cultures in 2004. It also covers the historic role of photography in public perception and opinion of the city in a period that spans the emergence of multiple photographic technologies in the 1850s to the massive expansion of digital technologies, the internet, mobile phones and social networks from the 20th to the 21st centuries.
