Art Nou 2016: Matthias Heiderich. Material

Art Nou returns for another edition, which sees some 20 galleries hosting exhibitions by up-and-coming artists that are worth keeping an eye on. Both local creatives as well as international names are taking part, and among the latter group, we reccomend the work of Matthias Heiderich. He captures architecture according to German tradition, which has often explored the relationship between our surroundings and the atmosphere we create ourselves. Heiderich's interest in industrial buildings and structures, angles and colours is made clear in his work: this self-taught photographer seeks out the humanity in architecture.
