In December each year museums across Thailand open their doors for a fantastic night-time experience. This month some 53 museums allow you to explore cultural and historical exhibits under the glow of atmospheric lighting that offers a fresh perspective on the displays. The participating museums are spread across the country, with a host of venues in Bangkok providing exciting opportunities for fun and educational evenings out. As night falls the museums are transformed into vibrant spaces full of immersive experiences that contrast with a usual daytime visit. The much-anticipated year-end festival takes place at the ‘Inspiration Playground’ in the heart of Ploenchit where the ‘Transformed Tree’, a striking Christmas tree made from recycled construction materials and other repurposed items, shines forth in glorious splendour. Enjoy live musical performances from top performers such as Yokee Playboy, T-Bone Arootstic, Purpeech and many other artists and DJs across three exciting weeks. River City Bangkok marks its 40th anniversary with a grand celebration showcasing its significant contribution to the Thai art scene over four decades. The highlight of the event is ‘Before Sunrise’, a stunning group exhibition featuring works from a diverse range of talent. Seven renowned galleries—Tang Contemporary, Pagoda the Art Club, Trendy Gallery, Lalanta, Number 1, Me Art and River City Bangkok—have come together to present this exceptional display. Set in a large park at the heart of the city, this electronic music event immerses you in an enchanting environment of lush greenery and shady trees. The experience blends music, light art and nature, creating a captivating atmosphere. Performances include local bands and popular DJs such as No Know, Gres Teh and Vell. You can also take part in educational activities on waste management led by the Taw Wiset group. As part of the sustainability focus, the organisers will give away tree saplings to plant (limited to 50 trees). The largest event of its kind in Southeast Asia is organised by the Specialty Coffee Association of Thailand and The Cloud. It supports the Thai coffee industry from farm to cup and unites farmers, roasters, baristas and consumers to promote sustainable growth in the sector. More than 200 local and international coffee-related businesses–as well as tea, cocoa and baking industry representatives–will be featured.
