Bangkok's social calendar is packed with events, but one consistently stands out as a highlight for locals and expats alike – the Ploenchit Fair. Held annually, this charity fair is not just a fundraiser – it's an explosion of culture, community, and fun, happening this year on November 23.
Taking place at Bangkok Patana School, you can dive into global cuisine, explore unique crafts, and enjoy live entertainment, all while supporting amazing causes. The best part: it’s not just a great day out – it’s a chance to make a real difference. Organised by the British Community in Thailand Foundation (BCTFN), all proceeds go to over 10 fantastic Thai charities, helping those in need. You’ll be having a blast and contributing to local communities at the same time – what’s not to love?
The proceeds from the event will benefit a variety of highly deserving organisations, particularly those supporting children's education, healthcare, and community projects. Over the years, the fair has raised millions of baht, making a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most.
This year, Ploenchit Fair is supporting a lineup of charities making a real impact across Thailand. Donations will go to causes like the Karen Hill Tribe Trust, improving life in remote Mae Hong Son villages with water, sanitation, and irrigation systems; Philanthropy Connections, providing vital educational resources to remote schools; and RAMA – Rural Area Medical Aid, supporting medical missions in underserved regions. It’s all about giving back and creating lasting change, one donation at a time.
Mark your calendars: 10am to 9pm at Bangkok Patana School. Tickets are B300 for adults and B150 for kids, available online at PloenchitFair or at the entrance. Getting there is easy – hop on the BTS to Bangna Station, where a free shuttle will take you straight to the event. Limited parking is available on-site if you're driving.
