Melancholy of Demon is Thai artist Jitti Chompee's attempt to reinterpret the art of Khon masks with a contemporary take to free the art from traditional constraints through the narrative of the demon Thosakan, the villain in the Ramakian epic.
The film will be screened at Lido Connect from March 18 to 22 at 19:00 (free of charge). The duration is one hour and 15 minutes. You will be impressed by the eye-popping concepts of body architecture, moving sculpture, and dance scenography.
The event is supported by Office of Contemporary Art and Culture (OCAC), Ministry of Culture and hosted by contemporary dance group 18monkeysdancetheatre.
