Colours of the Highlands

See the colours and patterns of the amazing Himalayan rug craft, at this exhibition by Khun Ake, an expert who has been collecting Tibetan rugs for over 20 years. Unlike other Tibetan arts, which are governed by strict iconography, rug weaving gives playful and imaginative designs, characterised by bold patterns and colourful hues that contrast sharply with the rugged highland setting. Showcasing the rugs and their stories, Khun Ake will also talk about the history, production and design of this distinctive craft, also touching on Chinese carpets with similar designs. Free.
