Chand focuses on hand-crafted candles that are scented using high-end perfume and feature Pantone-inspired colors. We personally love the birthday cake candles, which are made using an old mold from Germany and are available in as many as 40 colors—no more problems matching your candles with the cake.

COVID restrictions have forced Eastern Glass, the longest-running glassware manufacturer in Thailand (open since the 1950s), to reimagine their factory into a retail outlet where you can shop for premium glassware products that were previously made exclusively for export. The expansive space displays an array of products on one side, and has a coffee kiosk on another. Get a freshly-brewed cuppa in between browsing.

  • Charoenkrung

This new lifestyle space, located on Soi Charoenkrung 43, boasts minimalist décor that’s chic and warm at the same time—ivory walls, Scandi-style furnishing, and an airy split-level back quarter with a huge arched window that brings in natural light. Madi is a pun on the Thai phrase ma-dii, which translates as “come on!”

The lower floor acts as a café, serving coffee brewed from Mae Chan Tai beans, while the upper floor is a multidisciplinary “creator’s hub” where creative types are welcome to showcase, perform or teach their art. The current show features black-and-white analog photographs of the Charoenkrung neighborhood, taken by one of the owners’ daughters, whose name is Mardi.

Sorry, no actual rice is available for you to eat.

Muji has a new shop in Central Chidlom, where the Japanese lifestyle brand first opened in 2006. This new space is bigger (1,800 square meters!) and stocks more product lines, many of which are only available at this branch, including Labo, its genderless fashion line, ReMuj, the brand’s upcycled garment collection, and Muji Idée, the brand's artsy collaborations. Food lovers can also rave about ready-to-eat food made fresh daily. There’s also a coffee corner, a Muji Home showroom with an on-site interior advisor and a teamLab-designed interactive game.
