Gump’s is a place that takes cute seriously. Pastel-washed store facades and mural-painted walls act as cheery backgrounds for carefully posited installations such as pink cacti, and a drained swimming pool that’s been filled with hollow plastic balls, inflatable flamingos and several other floaties. Colorful pennants hang from the ceiling and quirky murals decorate the walls.
A quick look at the premises—and the mall’s social media accounts—marks Gump’s Ari as a haven for foodies and sweet tooths. The first floor is home to an abundance of dessert places such as Fuu, a Japanese shop known for its fluffy soufflé-style pancakes, Chiang Mai-hailing bubble tea brand Tropi Hoola, and soft serve purveyor Kiss BKK. The second floor, meanwhile, is dedicated to more serious eats, featuring restaurants such as Kobe King, which is a destination for Japanese barbecue, and Yuppies’ Yummies, which churns out Western and Asian fusion fare.
