Time Out says

Over the last few years, people have become more concerned about their health and have started to pay meticulous attention to what they consume on a daily basis. But sometimes, it’s difficult to keep on track, especially on weekdays when deadlines and a crazy workload prevents us from sitting down for a good, fulfilling lunch. Thankfully, Kauai’s entry into the city has provided healthier grab-and-go options apart from your usual lackluster, fried fast food. Even more exciting, the brand’s new flagship store recently opened on the ground floor of Asoke Tower, right in the heart of the city’s business district.

Kauai was first launched in Cape Town, South Africa in 1996 by Dean Kowarski, CEO of the Real Foods Group and nutrition nerd. The brand has since expanded to more than 160 stores across Africa, Europe and Asia. In Thailand, Kauai was brought in by renowned hospitality company Dusit International in partnership with the South African company. The brand started out with small outlets in Virgin Active fitness clubs across Bangkok, before unveiling its first standalone store—and biggest one yet.

Staying true to the brand’s mission, this new flagship store aims to inject the essence of the natural island lifestyle into every dish it serves. Customers can choose from a wide-ranging menu that caters to every diet, from vegan and vegetarian, to paleo and keto. Favorites include highly nutritious smoothies, and warm bowls and wraps, all freshly made in-store.

There’s the Instagram-worthy Dragon Fruit Smoothie Bowl (B190), perfect for those who want a variety of fruits in one dish. The mild sweetness of banana and dragon fruit is balanced out by the tartness of pineapple and apple, while toasted coconut adds some welcome crunch.

Tropical Greens (B160) is another winner and is actually delicious despite its unappealing color. Refreshing hints of ginger, apple and pineapple cut through the bitterness of spinach for a drink that’s both filling and vitamin-packed.

If you feel sleepy during the day and need an energy boost, we suggest downing a Floo shot (B60). Combining the zing of cayenne pepper and ginger with sour lemon and sweet honey, this is one drink that will wake you up instantly. (Think of it as a healthy alternative to a burning vodka shot, only it helps build up your immune system.)

There’s also a line-up of new dishes that blend Thai flavors with the western concept of healthy meals. Wrap (Mai) Mun Gai (B170) is an easy-to-grab meal that reimagines our beloved fried chicken dish as a wrap filled with non-greasy rice and free-range chicken breast. Flavorful dressing gives this delicious treat the familiar flavors of the famous Thai street food.

Last but not the least, you have Red Chicken Curry and Quinoa Bowl (B200), a delicious dish that we just have to mention. Crunchy fruits and veggies, like cucumber and pineapple, balance out the heat of this Thai-inspired dish and make it even more irresistible.
