Time Out says

The story of Il Bolognese, the nearly institutional trattoria on Sathorn, began in 2009 when Giancarlo Bonazza and his son, Nicola, owners of fine-dining restaurant, Enoteca, decided to establish a more casual place that serves comforting Italian staples.

Il Bolognese, originally called Sambuca, quickly became popular among families and groups of friends for its homey vibe and homemade flavors. And for its wood-fired pizza, a signature marked by its thin, crispy dough and fresh toppings.

The Diabla (B490) comes highly recommended. Each serving comes with generous sprinkling of tomatoes, salami, sausage, black olives and chili. Our favorite, however, is the Bianca Con Tartufo Autunnale (B680), a black truffle pizza with burrata cheese, spinach and mushroom. The distinctive scent of truffle combined with the aroma of sizzling creamy cheese will make you salivate indeed.

Il Bolognese’s pastas are also worth ordering. Don’t miss the Tajarin Al Tartufo Bianco (B720) a seasonal special that pairs parmigiano-topped egg noodles with white truffles, or the Linguine Alle Vongole (pasta with fresh clams, B570). Other dishes that will make you slobber are the Cozze Alla Marinara (mussels in white wine sauce, B490) and the Ossobuco Alla Milanese (B820), a dish of braised veal with risotto.

Il Bolognese is open daily from 11:30 to 14:30 and 17:30 to 23:00. Walk-ins are welcome but we recommend making a reservation in advance, especially if you would like a table next to the pizza-making station.
