With its clean-cut minimalism and model-material staff, you might think that Café Now is just another hip cafe in a shopping mall. It is alarmingly photogenic, but there are more reasons for Café Now to appear on your friend’s Instagram feeds. Beyond mere aesthetics, the operational team are deeply serious about food. Café Now has joined forces with Bo Songvisava, the female chef who found fame reviving long-lost Thai recipes with modern presentation at Bo.lan and Err. The results? Comfort dishes such as kraprao kai or muu (minced chicken or pork stir-fried with chili and basil leaves), spaghetti stir-fried with salted fish and minced chicken/pork,pad thai with chicken, and fried minced pork and salted fish cake. Loyal fans should be relieved to know that you can still get your old favorites from the original branch such as ‘Now grilled chicken’ served with spicy sauce and khao maew (rice with deep-fried mackerel). Coffee and mocktails remain the creations of heartthrob barista-cum-photographer, Tommy Guyer.
Backed by the design brand, Propaganda, Café Now at Siam Discovery follows the success of its first café in the creative neighborhood of Town in Town (a.k.a. Time Out Bangkok’s stomping ground) and a popular second branch at SCB Innovation Center.
