Popular local fashion brand BOYY’s latest boutique combines a retail space and cafe that takes it cues from a set in a Wes Anderson movie. Earthy terrazzo tables are the perfect foil to the pastel hues that dominate the walls. Adding kitschy fun to the entire space are retro elements such as circular fish tank and a pink La Marzocco coffee machine. Old-school brass-band tunes blare out from the speakers, completing the entire retro-cool, throwback feel. We think the café makes one of the best flat whites (B140) in town, crafted from a house blend that uses beans from Thailand, Brazil and Indonesia. A milky pandan latte (B140) and “Volcano Ovaltine” (iced chocolate topped with huge amounts of cocoa powder, B120) also make their way into the menu. Pair your drink with their almond croissant (B100).
The drinks are decent and the setting is genuinely photogenic. You may want to avoid visiting on the weekends and after-school hours as the café’s cuteness often draws in aspiring Instagram models who (sometimes) annoyingly wander through the café for photo-shooting sessions.
