It’s confirmed: there will be fireworks over Chao Phraya River on New Year’s Eve. This year, the pyrotechnics display called The Amazing Thailand Countdown 2022 will be hosted by ICONSIAM and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, which will once again light up 30,000 fireworks made of sustainable materials over the Chao Phraya River. It is said that the show area will be up to 1.4 km long, from Si Phraya Pier to Sathorn Bridge, and that the fireworks will last for almost 10 minutes. Hotels along the River of Kings, from Mandarin Oriental and The Peninsula to Capella and Four Seasons, will also join the party with their own light-up displays.
Back on land, ICONSIAM will host cultural shows as well as performances by local pop stars such as Ink Warunthorn, Mew Suppasit, and Atom Chanakan, and Boys’ Love stars Yin Anan and War Wanarat. But the show’s headliner will be American-born K-pop star Mark Tuan, who will have his first solo show in Thailand on the day.
