Supawit “Palm” Muttarattana, bar manager and mixologist of Foodie Collection (the restaurant and bar conglomerate which includes the likes of Vesper, Il Fumo and 80/20) was crowned the winner of Campari Bartender Competition Asia 2018 in Milan, Italy.

Of all the 11 contestants selected from some of the best bartenders in Asia, Supawit reached to the top by wowing the judges with Lunga Vita — his caffeinated take on Negroni in the first round. For the final, Palm reinterpreted the vintage Campari advertisement poster by Leonetto Cappiello, the iconic Italian-French artist into the cocktail in which he carefully selected ingredients like Campari, gin infused with strawberry, sundried tomato, ginger and chili, and Amaro to creatively signify each element of the Campari poster. The second and third places went to Mars Chang from Asia 49 in Taipei and Heather Cheng from Duddell’s in Hong Kong respectively.

Palm has recently launched the new cocktail menu at Vesper in which the mixologist transforms masterpieces in art history like the famous Coca Cola Vase by Ai Weiwei and Ta Matete by Paul Gaugain into creative drinks. And yes, they are amazing.
