Yesterday (May 19) and today (May 20), Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) updated the situation of COVID-19 vaccine allocation for Thai citizens residing in the city, with more detailed information regarding the locations for the public to receive the jab, the prospect number of the vaccinated within one day, the reservation system, and the vaccine brands.
First, City Hall aims at vaccinating as many as 80,000 individuals per day at 151 vaccination sites around town: 126 of them are hospitals while the other 25 are non-hospital venues.
- Thai citizens aged 60 years old and above, and those with severe chronic diseases will receive the vaccines at any of the listed hospitals.
- People between 18 and 60 years old will get the vaccine at any of the listed hospitals as well as non-hospital venues—each of which plans to provide the daily service to 1,000-3,000 people .
All non-hospital vaccination sites will be publicly open from June 7, and a few of them—Central Ladprao, for instance—have been opened for a test-run since May 12. BMA plans to vaccinate about 2,480,000 people within one month.
How to book a vaccine appointment?
The MorProm application is the only channel to book your COVID-19 vaccination appointment. Thanks to technical problems, you will have to use your luck to get the appointment. Authorities have asserted that problems will be fixed before May 31 when the app goes live. Walk-in services are also planned to be an alternative.

Which vaccine the public will receive?
As of now, the government focuses on providing AstraZeneca and Sinovac during the first phase of the rollout. AstraZeneca has been mostly given to people aged 60 and above, while Sinovac to the younger age groups.
Regarding the upcoming general allocation in June, it's announced that the Ministry of Public Health would turn the emphasis on AstraZenaca. In the meantime, other vaccines—namely, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, Bharat Biotech, and Sputnik V—could potentially become alternatives in the future.
