Good news for minimalist fashion fans; Uniqlo, today, has announced that it will launch the summer 2021 collection for +J, its collaboration with legendary designer Jil Sander, in Thailand on March 19.
Eleven years ago, the Japanese apparel giant wowed the fashion scene with the first collaboration with Jil Sander—not with the namesake brand but with the legendary minimalist designer herself—making the award-winning aesthetics more accessible to many. After over a decade, +J made a return late last year with the fall/winter 2020 collection to much excitement. This summer 2021 is the second return collection of the much-awaited collaboration.
The +J Spring/Summer 2021 +J collection captures the sense of emerging from the darkness of winter and enjoying the energy and lightness of spring. Reduced to their purest form, sharp silhouettes display an airy clarity. “The overall idea is sophistication,” Jil Sander commented. “A kind of purity that lets us think of regeneration and a fresh start.” A selection of natural fibers and comfortable blends defines effortless styles with luxurious texture and sheen. The color scheme of the collection reflects the chromatic palette of northern light, with the indigo and ink of summer night skies in cool contrast to ivory, caramel, grey and khaki.
The summer collection is featuring 37 designs forn men and women, priced between B590 and B7,990.
