Tilda Swinton and Apitchapong Weerasethakul are leading masterclasses at Thai Film Archive this weekend

Oscar-winning actress Tilda Swinton is taking over the conference room at Thai Film Archive in Salaya on February 25 at 13:00 for “Tilda Swinton: Acting, Being, Shape-shifting”, a masterclass on acting, which she will be conducting in person.

The British acting legend is visiting Thailand to promote Memoria, the latest independent film by Apitchapong “Jei” Weerasethakul, in which Swinton stars. As part of promotion, the actress will be taking a lucky few on a journey through her career over the past three decades. She will also be talking about her life and experiences in the industry. 

Following the masterclass by Swinton, the venue will screen Memoria at 15:30.

You can also join Memoria’s director and Colombian producer ​​Diana Bustamante on February 26 for “A World Apart, But Same Boat: Independent Film Industry in Thailand and Colombia”. (Both masterclasses will have a Thai translator.) On the same day, Weerasethakul will lead a talk dubbed “Memory of Filmmaking” where he will recount his creative processes in all of his productions. He will be joined by Thai filmmakers Sompot Chidgasornpongse and Nottapon Boonprakob. (The talk will have an English translator.)
