We weren’t being cheeky when we said earlier that the new Siam Square, a go-to for Bangkok’s trendy teens and millennials, gave off Myeong-dong vibes given the number of Korean and Korean-inspired outlets that have been opening up in the recently revamped hood.
Popular South Korean café Mil Toast House opened its doors in Siam Square last year, serving its signature steamed bread and soufflé French toast. This coming October, another Korean import will make its debut in the popular lifestyle destination.
Sandwich shop Eggdrop is a household name in South Korea, with over 150 branches all over the country. It attracted attention when it first opened in 2017 but rose to immense popularity thanks to the hit K-series Hospital Playlist.
This year, Eggdrop unveiled plans of expanding to other parts of the world, including the United States and Thailand. The official Facebook page for the Thai outlet posted a teaser on the Bangkok branch on July 29: “Hello Thailand. Be ready 🥳🥚🥪 because EGGDROP is about to check-in for the deliciousness in Thailand.”
