While we may never know what exactly is being discussed behind the Summit’s closed doors, we at least know what the APEC VIPs will be eating at the dinner reception.
The four-course meal was put together by Chumpol Jangprai, the chef-founder of two-Michelin-starred Thai restaurant R-Haan, who drew inspiration from Thai food cultures and homegrown products from around the kingdom.
Krathong Tong or Thai golden cups with locally sourced caviar (from the Royal Project) will be served as amuse-bouche. These will be followed by a small platter of bites inspired by recipes from the four regions of Thailand and a salad dish featuring renowned Phuket lobster. Mains will either be massaman curry with Sakon Nakhon beef or coconut milk soup with Phuket grouper. Tropical fruits and Thai sweets will be served for dessert.
The gala dinner will take place today (Nov 17) at the Thai Navy Assembly Hall by the Chao Phraya River. It has also been revealed that world leaders, from USA’s Kamala Harris to China’s Xi Jinping to France’s Emmanuel Macron, will be entertained by top Thai performers, including living music legend Thongchai "Bird" McIntyre and world-famous MMA fighter Buakow Bunchamek as well as light and sound shows.
