In September, entertainment venues in Khaosan Road may potentially operate for longer hours. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarnm, the Minister of Tourism and Sports, recently revealed that the department is planning to propose to the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) a plan to allow nightlife establishments in the area to open until 04:00 in order to “maintain positive momentum for the upcoming high season”, as reported by Bangkok Post.
Khaosan Road has been selected to get the green light, but the ministry is also looking to implement the same rule in other tourist hotspots in the country, namely Patong in Phuket, Khao Lak in Phangnga and Ao Nang in Krabi.
For now, entertainment venues are allowed to open as late as 02:00.
