Thomas and Mathias Sühring of two-Michelin-starred German restaurant Sühring have become the latest chefs who win the privilege of Swiss watch manufacture Blancpain.

Back in 1986, the legendary watch brand awarded one of its extravagant watches to Frédy Girardet for his World's Best Chef crown, making Blancpain one of the very first watch brands that jumpstarted the intertwined connection between the watch and food worlds. Since then, the brand has been granting its watch each year to a chef who is recognized by the Michelin Guide, who is also Blancpain's partner.

In 2020, the engraved Blancpain watches are given to the Bangkok-based Sühring twins to commemorate their passion, creations, and contribution to the gastronomy scene. Influenced by Central European cuisine where they spent their childhood years, the Sühring twins launched their namesake restaurant in Chong Nonsi back in 2016 and received their first Michelin in the same year. Sühring won two stars in 2018 and 2019 and is currently ranked no. 6 on Asia's 50 Best Restaurant list.
