Japanese bookstore Tokyodo at the Emporium, the last remaining branch of the chain, will bid the final farewell on July 18, ending the brand's 30 years of serving bookworms.

One of the longest-running Japanese bookstore brands in the capital, Tokyodo Books has been known among Bangkok residents who share their interest in Japanese books for decades and had opened many branches in the past. The bookstore is currently running a clearance sale with books and magazines starting from as low as B50.

Tokyodo at the Emporium is the brand's last branch left in Thailand.

The bookstore closure, whether it’s large or small, always brings great grief to all bookworms. As one of them, I’d like to invite you to support your favorite bookstore occasionally so that this city can remain some space for bibliophiles to find joy when most of the capital is taken over by commercial department stores and fashion outlets.
