Lose weight and build muscle in just a few weeks—and learn how to balance your diet while you’re at it. The Lab, one of the city’s leading fitness centers, is bringing back Shredded, its renowned five-week body transformation program, this month.
Kickstarted by The Lab CEO and founder Richard Cohen in 2017, Shredded isn’t just an exercise program, but an opportunity for people to achieve their fitness goal, whatever it is, in a short period of time. "We want to take you on a journey, to teach you about nutrition, different exercises including stretching and cardio training, and also to build a strong community," says Cohen.
The five-week program starts with a seminar where you’re given a fitness test and learn about flexible dieting. You will be then placed in a team and under a coach who will guide you through a twice-weekly outdoor boot camp session (focusing on weight training) at Benjakitti Park. Activities include wheelbarrow, rope climbing and monkey bars. For the rest of the week, you can take advantage of the group classes in both The Lab’s Sukhumvit and Silom branches. "It’s very flexible. The good thing about Shredded is that you get access to any class,” says Cohen. “We’ve added outdoor Shredded bootcamp at the park to get people outside and to make them realize that even if they don’t have access to the gym, they can exercise by walking, running, doing push-ups or squats with friends." All participants are eligible for a weekly one-on-one nutritional and workout check-in with their coach.
The Lab assures that the program is suited for everyone, from those who want to lose weight to pregnant women who wish to stay fit and minimize their fat gain. The program also provides sustainable, weight-maintaining exercises that you can apply by yourself after the program is done.
