This underground venue showcases the rich history of the Sanam Chai area, where a number of artefacts were unearthed during the construction of the train station. The museum is divided into three major sections. First up is an exhibition that reveals the history of Bangkok during and in the years succeeding the Ayutthaya Kingdom. Meanwhile, the second room displays stories of Wat Pho’s long-forgotten mansion clusters, while the last section is a hall dedicated to the ancient palaces of the Ayutthaya era.

Visitors will learn about the historical progression of Sanam Chai, from when it was a fortress guarding the Grand Palace until the present time. An animated history of the celebrated area, written by Rom Pang, the author of popular novel Buppaesunnivas, is also continuously screened.
