Thailand has long been a tourist hotspot and the numbers prove it. Last year alone more than 35 million visitors arrived from around the world, and with Bangkok and Chiang Mai recently making it onto Time Out’s Best Cities list for 2025 (Bangkok in second place no less), even more travellers are expected to flock to the country in the coming months. In light of this, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports has been focusing on streamlining the airport arrival experience – because let’s face it, who likes getting off a long flight and then standing in a lengthy immigration queue? Now, to the eternal thanks of travellers everywhere, the Ministry has rolled out the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), which, it says, should make entering the country a breeze.

Due to be fully operational by May 1, the digital card will replace the traditional paper TM6 arrival forms. This means tourists can easily register and submit their personal information ahead of time through digital platforms – saving them time when they get to the airport. The new system connects with agencies such as the Department of Consular Affairs, the Department of Disease Control and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports to make data verification much faster and more secure.

Although English is widely considered the global language, many tourists come from non-English-speaking countries. So, to ensure travellers from around the world can easily access information, the Immigration Bureau has prepared helpful materials in five languages – English, Chinese, Korean, Russian and Japanese. Whether you're visiting from nearby or from halfway across the world, these resources will help make a trip to Thailand as hassle-free as possible.

Besides saving time at the airport with faster immigration processing and shorter wait times, the TDAC initiative enhances security, ensures accurate personal information and helps Thailand to stand out as a modern, tourist-friendly destination. With this system, Bangkok and the nation is ready to welcome travellers from across the world with a silky smooth arrival experience and a positive first impression.
