For the tenth year running, the New York-based magazine has released its list of must-visit destinations for the coming year. Past winners include Japan, Costa Rica and Italy and this time, all eyes are on Thailand.
The kingdom’s blend of creativity in art, food and hospitality earned it top marks from Travel + Leisure, with Southeast Asia’s Editor-in-Chief Jeninne Lee-St. John praising the country’s dynamic scene. Thailand’s ability to balance tradition and modernity is also highlighted – same-sex marriage and cannabis legalisation sit alongside the country’s deeply rooted Buddhist practices, offering a compelling fusion of old and new.
This recognition is a nod to the country’s famed hospitality, which is no stranger to accolades, as proven by Capella Bangkok's recent title as the world’s best hotel.
