Thai artist and illustrator Pomme Chan’s latest art exhibition Arcade of Dreams is seeing us succumb to bouts of nostalgia.
Displayed at Chim Chim, Siam@Siam hotel’s bustling all-day dining restaurant, this set of illustrations is the latest output of the Thai artist who rose to fame when she designed one of the posters for the 2015 Academy Awards.
For this exhibition, Pomme collaborated with Happy People Studio to create an array of illustrations that reflect her childhood memories. To complement these vibrant artworks, Chim Chim has revealed new decor inspired by the ’80s and ’90s, like an arcade cabinet, a photo booth and playground games.
The restaurant has also launched three new dishes inspired by Pomme’s illustrations, such as Kanom Chan Millefeuille (B290), Thai Tea Croissant (B130), and Mango Sticky Rice Cruffin (B130). Pair these with fun drinks like ’80s Flasback (B200; yogurt milk, jelly and whipped cream) or Pink Cassette (B200; yuzu juice, rainbow jelly and soda water).
To indulge in more nostalgic vibes, come to Chim Chim Bangkok’s Saturday Vinyl Brunch, which features a big selection of delicious comfort fare and DJ sets by DJ NANZIEE.
