Chef at Fillets
I got my first tattoo three years ago by a famous tattoo artist called Jack Poohvis. It’s a geometric-style knife inspired by a Japanese sashimi knife that I had asked a blacksmith to forge and which I waited for years. I think a tattoo is some kind of expression. That’s why chefs have lots of it. We are super busy working each day, and having a tattoo is another way of expressing ourselves. I love cooking and my job, so my second tattoo is the ingredient I use the most: himedai fish. For the shrimp and the oyster, I just thought they would look good on my arm so I got them. My next tattoo is probably going to be a wasabi plant.
