Among the culinary genius are Nick Kim who helms Masa, a three-starred omakase joint in New York City, and Paul Liebrandt who’s best recognized for his now-defunct two-starred establishment Corton. The duo will be pairing up for the exclusive 6-course The VIP Table on 16 September.
The other notable names include Thierry Drapeau of the one-starred eponymous restaurant in Saint-Sulpice-le-Verdon; Maria José San Román who owns the one-starred Monastrell in Alicante, Spain; Rob van der Veeken of one-starred De Karpendonkse Hoeve in Eindhoven, as well as Simon Scott and Bastian Falkenroth of Bistrot Saveeurs in Castres and U. das Restaurant in Dusseldorf. The prestigious chefs will be showcasing their masterful culinary skills at The Michelin-Starred Signature Dishes (20 September), The Chef’s Table, The SO Amazing Chefs Edition (21 September), and The Final Round, The SO Amazing Chefs Edition (22 September).
Another can’t-miss event includes The Love of Oyster on 15 September at Mixo in which oyster shucker Jacque Cocollos presents the deliciously fresh shellfish from the renowned Marennes-Oléron, suitably paired with bubbly. Swiss-born chef Nicolas Elalouf who has wowed Hong Kong with east-meet-west appropriation to dim sum at Man Mo will helm the kitchen of Mixo for The House of Dim Sum, while chef Takatomo Izumi from the one-starred Jiki Miyazawa in Kyoto will deliver the meticulously-crafted kaiseki dinner at The Night of Kaiseki, both on 17 September.
The culinary event is heated up on 18-19 September at SO Amazing Chefs Culinary Showdown where eight Michelin-lauded chefs, in the teams of two, compete head-to-head in one-of-a-kind cooking contest using a secret ingredient. Guests enjoy a four-course dinner prepared by SO Sofitel Bangkok culinary team, witness a combative showdown, and vote for their favorite dish.
Bakers should not miss to be a part of The Art of Baking workshop in which pastry queen Thananya Kaikaew of Soufflé and Me and chef Piti Saengmanee of SO Sofitel Bangkok conduct a baking class where you can learn how to make soufflé and chocolate lava cake on 20 September, while cheese lover will be indulged in premium selections by Les Frères Marchand, an artisan cheesemaker from Eastern France at CHEESE@SO, The SO Amazing Chefs Edition on 20 September.
