While Bangkok sees no shortage of rooftop bars, very few, to our experience, offer the drinking experience that wouldn’t burn a hole in your wallet. The newly-opened 1826 Mixology & Rooftop Bar at the Rembrandt Hotel & Suites Bangkok is the kind of sky-high bar we’d highly recommend, thanks to the well-executed drinks, the reasonable price, and importantly the gorgeous spanning view over Sukhumvit concrete jungle.

Located on the same floor as the city’s best Indian restaurant Rang Mahal, 1826 boasts a peculiar name which is actually a construction of two sets of number: 18, which stands for Soi Sukhumvit 18 on which the hotel is situated, and 26, which is the floor number of the cocktail bar. Master mixologist Stephen Pinto plays an awesome host to make you at ease while sipping the drink and sinking into the sunset.

The food menu creatively revolves around the three restaurant concepts of the hotel: Indian at Rang Mahal, Italian at Da Vinci, and Mexican at Mexicano. Their beverage menu selection consists of storytelling, Insta-worthy cocktails and varied spirit choices.

Pongal festival, a celebration for harvest, becomes an inspiration for the mixologist to create Bhogi, a concoction that mixes betel nut-infused whiskey, lime, egg white and bitter.

A classic Old Fashioned is given a Mexican tweak in Hacienda de Fashion. Kicks of tequila are dominant as the drink mixes two types of tequila, alongside the mixture of mezcal, cinnamon agave syrup and homemade chocolate and coffee bitters. It’s definitely a favorite option for spirit forward lovers.

Italian beloved dessert is transformed into Tiramisu Martini, seeing the mix of vodka, cacao tequila, espresso, Kahlua, vanilla, and topped with mascarpone foam. The concoction is actually a delicious, cream-topped confection version of Espresso Martini.
