Unless it’s to visit a friend or shop at ICONSIAM, you probably don’t have too many reasons to cross the Chao Phraya over to Thonburi.

But that will probably change these festive months. The state-run Creative Economy Agency (CEA) has teamed up with Urban Ally and young creative minds to turn the spotlight on eight long-forgotten temples in Thonburi, in the form of colorful digital projection mapping in and outside each temple’s structure called Unfolding Bangkok. The partnership between religion and technology has never been cooler.
