Last October, Apple was backlashed for shipping the much-awaited iPhone 12 without a wall charger for, as they claim, environmental reasons. Months later, the approach seems to be adopted by other smartphone manufacturers—including South Korean IT giant Samsung.
This morning (Jan 15), a few hours after a global virtual launch, Samsung Thailand hosted a small event to introduce a series of new devices to small groups of media and bloggers. These new devices are Galaxy Buds Pro earbuds, Bluetooth tracker Smart Tag, and the new flagship smartphone series everyone was waiting for, the Galaxy S21, which, as many have guessed, comes without a wall charger in each box. Well, well, well.
The phones themselves have so much to rave about, though. The Galaxy S21 series comes in three models: the smallest Galaxy 21, the mid-sized Galaxy S21+, and the grandeur Galaxy S21 Ultra—all of which are compatible with 5G, complete with state-of-the-art cameras tailored for high-quality photography and videography (up to 12-bit RAW format and 4K 60fps), and upgraded UI.
Retail prices in Thailand are:
- Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G (Phantom Black and Phantom Silver) from B39,900
- Galaxy S21+ 5G (Phantom Violet, Phantom Black and Phantom Silver) from B33,900
- Galaxy S21 5G (Phantom Pink, Phantom Gray, and Phantom Violet) from B 27,900
