Have you always gotten lost traversing the Chatuchak Weekend Market? Your migraine-inducing problem is now all sorted out. Looking to take your shopping spree in Chatuchak to the next level, Thailand's longest-running commercial bank Siam Commercial Bank (SCB), led by its FinTech arm called Digital Ventures, has partnered up with The State Railway of Thailand (which legally owns the land where Chatuchak sits) to make possible the first official mobile app for the outdoor market.
Called Chatuchak Guide, the app is available in three languages—Thai, English and Mandarin—and acts like a navigator to explore the market’s massive grounds. The app gives information on shops and cafes, and doles out recommendations—especially for tourists—on what to do, and where to find the best eats and buys in Chatuchak.
Thanks to cutting-edge geomagnetic technology, one of its features of the app is how it shows exactly where you are in a market packed with more than ten thousand shops. You're looking to find a certain shop and you don't know where exactly it is located? Just type in the name of the shop, click search and your problem is sorted! Not sure in which direction you should head towards? Search on Category section for abundant shopping ideas! It can help you find the nearest toilet and ATM machine (as well as facilities), too. Don't forget to check out The Spirit of Chatuchak section on the app to watch videos that document details and origins of some of Chatuchak's best craft products.
Download today from the Apple App Store or Android Play Store, and get a B100 discount from participating shops and cafes. The promotion is valid only on weekends, available until 31 December, and limited to 2,000 discount coupons only. Don't forget to log into the app often to find flash deals from shops.
Download now, and your shopping in Chatuchak Market will never be the same.
