The pandemic doesn’t seem to stop global food and hospitality brands from launching their outpost in the Thai capital, and the latest brand to debut in Thailand is upmarket fusion restaurant Nobu.
According to an AP report, Asset World, the kingdom’s hospitality conglomerate, has signed an MoU with Nobu Hospitality, a luxury restaurant and hospitality brand founded by Japanese chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper in 1994, to open “multiple” Nobu-branded restaurants and hotels in Thailand.
The first venture to open is Nobu Restaurant, which is said to open on the top floor space of Empire Tower on the corner of Sathorn and Narathiwat roads.
The Nobu brand was founded in 1994 in New York by Japanese chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper, and is best known for a perfect combination of awe-inspiring minimalist designs and fine Japanese-fusion cuisine and, yes, star gazing. The first Nobu restaurant outside the US opened in 1997 in London.
