Back in 2019, Museum Siam livened up the city’s art scene by hosting Cultural District, a colorful festival that witnessed a series of exhibitions, showcases and workshops that highlighted the creative heritage and iconic architecture of the Rattakanosin Island area.
Intended to be an annual event, it was postponed last year due to COVID-19, but is scheduled to return with a bang this year in October. The latest edition will once again allow visitors to explore and appreciate old buildings in Rattanakosin Island, and discover the area’s many historical secrets through various activities. A highlight will be Strikeback, a project by the students of Silpakorn University, involving a flower market and an exhibition in Pak Khlong Talat Mai. Projection mapping events, light installations and live music performances by popular artists are other things to look forward to.
Cultural District Bangkok will take place from Oct 1 to 31. For more information, check out here.
