Everybody loves cheese (unless you’re lactose intolerant, oops). This kitchen staple is beloved to people across the globe, and Thais are no exception. We’re so crazy about it that we even add it to a hot pot meal. (Sorry.)
While we’re obsessed with cheese, we’re still pretty confused about how to eat it properly. Help comes in the form of “Europe, Home of Cheese” a campaign that aims to promote the natural cheese products of France.
Supported by the European Union, the campaign will run until 2022 and will offer a wide range of activities such as chef talks, trade networking events, and masterclasses by Laurent Pousse at Le Cordon Bleu Cooking School.
And of course, what’s a cheese event without tasting sessions. The main goal of Europe, Home of Cheese is to acquaint you with French cheese of different varieties, tastes and aromas. At leading supermarkets nationwide, you can get a real taste of rare products like Fougerus, a type of brie made exclusively in France; and Bleu d’Auvergne, a variant of the notoriously smelly blue cheese; and many more.
Whether you’re a cheese enthusiast or not, Europe, Home of Cheese will help you get your head around this familiar yet, at times, still mysterious, product. Follow the campaign on Instagram (@homeofcheese_th) to keep abreast of their many events, and to load up on tips and cheesy recipes.
