It’s always heartening to see Bangkok brimming with the collective joyous pride of various communities celebrating equality, diversity, and love for all during the month of June.
Uplifting rainbows are also illuminating ICONSIAM as it celebrates Pride Month with ICONSIAM Pride Out Loud, an event that features a variety of fun-filled activities for a cause.
Earlier this month, Pride Market welcomed folks from all walks of life to Suralai Hall, where they got to pledge their support to the LGBTQ+ community.
Still ongoing throughout the month are a bevy of art exhibitions, such as ICONSIAM’s Pride Out Loud Exhibition (open until June 30 at the Walkway space on M Floor), where people from different backgrounds and professions, and their inspiring messages are being celebrated through beautiful portraits.
You can also appreciate the work of LGBTQ+ artists at the Proud Reflexions Exhibition. Located at Charoen Nakhon Hall (M Floor), it showcases a collection of art toys created by masters such as Rainbow Kido and Poriin.
What better way to show affinity with the LGBTQ+ community than by wearing some Pride-perfect merch? Thai designer Ek Thongprasert has launched a Pride collection of local Thai loincloth pha khao ma that comes in different multicolored patterns. Find them at ICONCRAFT on the 4th floor.
Before heading home, don’t forget to stop by ICONSIAM’s waterfall on the 6th floor, which has been redesigned for Pride Month and features the effervescent shades of the rainbow. Proudly hailed as Southeast Asia’s rainbow-themed water feature, the show comes on at 19:00, 20:00, and 21:00 every day.
