Kuala Lumpur's modern Japanese eatery Babe by Japanese-American celebrity chef Jeff Ramsey is now helming the kitchen of Kintsugi at The Athenée Hotel for a pop-up stint until 15 October.

Put by Ramsey as a “Japas” and “fun-dining”restaurant, Babe’s temporary residence in the luxury hotel acts as a prelude to what diners should expect once Kintsugi, the celebrity chef’s second offshore restaurant, is opened on 16 October.

Expect Ramsey’s modern take on kaiseki and the multi-influenced dishes that have made Babe one of Kuala Lumpur’s most famous restaurants. Choose among three sets menu (from B1,980, B2,680 and B3,380) featuring the likes of the chawamushi of Alaskan king crab and truffle; fine de claire oyster tartare served atop eel jelly and yuzu ice-cream; grilled unagi with sunchoke and gobo; and A4 wagyu beef served with potato purée and king oyster mushroom.

The restaurant opens for dinner from Wednesday to Sunday from 18:00-22:00.
