ICONSIAM's handicraft retail space, ICONCRAFT, celebrates the intricacy and wisdom of Thai craftsmanship throughout August with one of a kind exhibition ICONCRAFT Thai Textile Hero, which features stunning showcases from some of Thailand's most celebrated local textile artists as well as collaborative works between a storied textile community and some of the country's best-known fashion designers.
The showcase will bring to the fore traditional Thai wisdom through the textile design of local artists such as Meechai Taesujariya from Ban Kham Pun in Ubon Ratchathani and Weeratham Trakul-ngernthai from Baan Chansoma in Surin. Three high-end fashion brands—ASAVA, Hook’s by Prapakas, and Wisharawish—will also showcase collaborative masterpieces with Ban Sawai Natural-Dye Weaving Group, fusing contemporary design and traditional artistry.
Homegrown couture label Sirivannavari Bangkok by HRH Princess Sirivannavari will also launch the brand's first Thai silk bag collection, available exclusively at the event for a limited number of 35 handbags. The bag features meticulous French-style embroidery through the craftsmanship of Sirivannavari Embroidery Atelier and Academy and leverages the princess' special silk collection collected from silk weaving communities throughout the country.
