Last December, Gucci wowed anime fans with a one-of-a-kind collaborative collection with legendary manga character Doraemon. A month later, a spin-off collection is dropped, and it's even cuter.
A partnership to celebrate Doraemon's 50th anniversary in 2020 and Gucci's centennial in 2021, the capsule collection sees the world-renowned character on a number of Gucci's vintage-inspired goods, from crossbody bags and totes to watches and shoes. And to celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Ox, Gucci has just rolled out a special Chinese New Year collection in which its creative director Alessandro Michele reimagines the renowned cat robot as an ox, complete with ears, feet, tail and horns.
Also, Gucci has dropped a note that all items from this Doraemon x Gucci collection will be handed over to you in fully-recyclable bags and packages. And thanks to AR technology, the Doraemon character on the bags and tags will come to life via the Gucci mobile app you can download for free from the App Store.
