As announced earlier on his personal Instagram post, Indian rockstar chef Gaggan Anand, along with YouTube celebrity Mark Wein and restauranteur/blogger Kittidech "itan" Vimolratana (known for the Instagram account @itan), will be taking over Bangkok street food joints to deliver their creative take on Indian street-side fare, from which the proceed goes to support the street food joints they take over.
Now the first location of the charitable project has been revealed. It's the roti pushcart in Bangrak Plaza, opposite the Bangrak branch of Kasikorn Bank.
With the mission to raise at least B100,000 to give support the rot vendors, the chef will be serving Rydo Anron's (former Gaggan head chef) version of beef Rendang to go with the roti coked by the street food joint.
The serving is limited to B400, starting from 16:30 on 29 September at Lido Connect.
According to Gaggan, the project is "an experiment to create a charity for struggling under-deserved street food vendors [and] to give them new and better structure".
