If you’re on the hunt for your new favorite spot for traditional Chinese broth, Fuwang Hotpot Teahouse at Thonglor ticks all the boxes. The restaurant is introducing a concept called “premium solo hot pot”, which allows you to combine a variety of fresh, quality ingredients sourced from China, Japan, and Thailand in your individual broth bowl.

The secret to the perfect hot pot lies in its flavorful soup. At Fuwang, you can’t go wrong with their signature Traditional Mala, a soup that’s flavored with beef butter and spices that leave a fiery and mouth-numbing tingle to the palate. If you can’t take the heat, then opt for either the less spicy Fuwang Mala (also cooked with beef butter) or the less greasy Healthy Mala which uses vegetable oil. Mala non-fans who still want to savor a hearty hot pot can try the Coconut Chicken and Chicken Collagen soup, while diners hankering for a comforting bowl of health-boosting broth would do well to order the Tomato Soup or Mushroom Soup.

As with most hot pot venues, meat reigns supreme at Fuwang Hotpot Teahouse. The highlight is Miyazaki, an A4 wagyu ribeye that has been given best beef honors for 15 consecutive years for its marbled fat quality and melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. Dipping this meat—or Kagoshima, another perfectly marbled A4 wagyu ribeye—in simmering mala soup offers one of the best, and likely most comforting, beef experiences of your life. If beef is not your preference, you can always get your fill with other protein selections such asIberico pork belly, Kurobuta pork belly and New Zealand lamb shoulder

While the meat is highlighted, the seafood selection at this hot pot restaurant is nothing to scoff at. The menu boasts an amazing assortment of fish and shellfish, such as salmon, seabass, sea crab, jumbo scallop, abalone, and geoduck. Yet, you can’t say that you had a great dining experience at this hotpot house if you don’t try the enormous rainbow lobster. Enjoy its fresh meat with shoyu sauce and a hint of wasabi or boil it in your favorite broth to perfection.

Balance out all the hot flavors with a sip of the refreshing Boba Da Hong Pao Milk Tea, the house’s signature drink that’s made of premium Chinese oolong. Another hit from the beverage menu is Cheese Jasmine Green Tea. The perfect concoction of aromatic green tea blended with jasmine flowers and cheese foam on the top promises a great swig!
