In case you haven't noticed, everyone in Bangkok is now crazy about this new suspense drama on One Channel called In Family We Trust.
Directed by Songyos “ Yong” Sugmakanan, this suspense drama revolves around a complicated Thai-Chinese family of Jira-anans, a wealthy Thai-Chinese family that operates its own hotels in Bangkok and Pattaya. The drama follows the members of the family, which seem to enjoy a strong and unbreakable bond. But things are not what they seem. One day, the eldest member from the second generation mysteriously turns up dead in the family estate. His only son Pete (Kritssanapoom ”Jaylerr” Pibulsonggram) teams up with his cousin Yi (Thanapob “Tor” Leeratanakachorn), the oldest son of the victim’s sister and the prime suspect in the case, to find out the truth.
In Family We Trust stars some of the kingdom's best actors as well as this collective of teen entertainers called 9x9 (who graces the cover of our latest issue). But great actors are not the only reason for the popularity of the drama. But it's the fact that it reflects on the untold tensions in most of the Thai-Chinese families, including the status of female members, that many of us could simply relate to.
The drama airs on One 31 Channel every Friday at 20:45, and Saturday at 20:10. Unfortunately, there are no English subtitles at the moment, but rumor has it that the drama might be coming to Netflix in the near future.
