A month after Bangkok Screening Room bid goodbye to hip creative space WOOF PACK, the Facebook page of the now-gone theater updated that a new member has just taken over, and we are genuinely elated!
And that said upcoming venture is none other than The Documentary Club, the organizer team of experts in documentaries. The Bangkok Screening Room crew said, "We're delighted to introduce you to a new tenant at the WOOF PACK building, who is a familiar face to many local cinephiles and well known for their documentary film expertise."
To further the good news, the indie film theater also announced that movie lovers in the capital can still enjoy the selection of independent films from every corner of the globe at the cinema by the new tenant. They added, "The Documentary Club team will be taking over the birthplace of Bangkok Screening Room after we depart. This handover means that Bangkok still has an independent cinema and movie lovers can still enjoy a variety of film programs present to you by the Doc Club team!"
Back in October 2019, The Documentary Club parted ways with its very first physical venue at Warehouse 30. The organizer team then turned its focus on being a distributor of international documentaries for the screening in both commercial and independent cinemas like House Samyan, Lido Connect, and of course, Bangkok Screening Room.
2021 sees the new era of the club. It will be relocated to the spot of 52 seats where the Bangkok Screening Room will leave after 4 years of operations.
Stay tuned for more info regarding when the cinema will make a comeback and what's has been up in their sleeves.
