Just like what happened last year, we are on the edge of getting to celebrate the coming of 2022 and then some sh** happens. (Cue the sigh.)
Earlier today (December 23), Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) announced the cancellation of New Year celebrations following the concern over the possible outbreak of the new COVID-19 variant Omicron. But there’s a catch.
City Hall said all festive events hosted by the private sectors are still allowed to go on as planned but under strict preventive measures. This means, massive parties at the likes of centralwOrld and ICONSIAM are approved by the authorities to carry on.
Thailand has recorded approximately 100 Omicron-infected cases (as of the reporting date on December 22).
